Wonderful for it’s purpose…sleeping!
I’ve been using a weighted blanket for a while, but it was getting to warm this summer. My wife had seen this and recommended it. It’s an interesting middle ground. While it is heavy, it doesn’t have the same solid weight that a typical weighted blanket has. Much more distributed.The big win here is that it breathes wonderfully while still keeping you warm and much heavier than any common summer “blanket” you might want to go to.The quirk to it is the weave. This is not a toss around blanket. As others have shown, it doesn’t take a lot of effort to pull the weave way out of shape. However, its easy enough to make things look normal again if you just smooth it out. Just don’t try to grab and pull anywhere. No shaking it out or spreading it like you might try throwing it like a comforter or sheet. If you need to lift it, just fold it over a few times until you can pick it up with your arms and wide palms. Yeah, that may sound silly, but it’s a very unique, and very nice blanket that should be taken care of with some basic sense.On a similar note, yes, the edges curl. Quite a bit actually. It will also stretch significantly if you let it hang over the edges. If you are buying this for it’s purpose (ya know, sleeping) then you’ll be fine. If you are buying it for looks or showing off to your friends, then you probably won’t be happy.One cautionary note though… I would strongly recommend keeping it away from children because it is the equivalent of a very thick string fishing net. It would be very easy for a child to get caught up in it. Same thing goes for sleepers that tend to thrash or twist up sheets / blankets when they sleep.

This is a very PRETTY blanket. Very well made and well packaged. Comfortable. Very breathable. I can feel my fan through the blanket which is great because I am a hot sleeper. I have two other traditional weighted blankets (15lb and 25lb) and both of them feel much heavier than this. But they get too hot. This is a good balanced blanket, not too heavy and not as light as a regular blanket either. Price point is high but this is one of two brands of knitted weighted blankets i could find. The other brand was just a bit cheaper but did not come in multiple colors or fabric options. Overall i think i would buy this again.UPDATE:Dropping it down to 4 stars because while it is washable i do not recommend putting this thing in a standard washing machine. I have to take it to the laundromat and put it in the big machines. Also i did get some pilling in the fabric but that might be from my dogs im not sure. overall still a great blanket and while its on sale i may be picking up another one!

Nice blanket
I like this blanket. It has an attractive weave. This is my first weighted blanket but it seems like the weight is nice – could go a little heavier, even. I sleep with it most nights and even in summer it is not too hot. The colors are attractive and even solved an issue I was having with my duvet cover not matching anything in the room. With the assorted blues, the cover looks much nicer. (Queen size blanket pictured on a split king tempurpedic bed.)This is not an easy blanket to move without stretching the weave, so it stays on the bed. It curls up on the edges which makes it not quite full coverage. I don’t think it’s large enough for two people. And the fabric is not the softest, but despite my very sensitive skin I don’t appear to be allergic to it. I think as long as there’s a cover between me and the blanket, I am fine.I’m not sure if I’m sleeping better or not, but it does seem like I fall asleep faster. I feel more snug. Overall I’m glad I made this purchase and spent a little more.

I received my blanket today so I will write first impressions and then update my review later. The blanket is beautiful. Really beautiful. Aesthetically, it’s incredible. I purchased the dark grey in 20lbs. Just for reference, I am 5’0 and 119 lbs. I know that is heavy for someone my size, but I have owned 20 pound weighted blankets before and I prefer the heavier weight. Unfortunately, this blanket felt REALLY light. My lightweight regular blankets and this weighted blanket feel the same on my body when I am laying down in bed. Again, this is first impressions and I will update my review after using it if I am mistaken, but it doesn’t seem to offer that hug feeling, no compression, or anything that weighted blankets are suppose to provide. In fact, it “tents up” very easily so the blanket doesn’t even rest on my body in some areas. This makes me pretty bummed. I am absolutely in love with the aesthetics of this blanket and want to keep it so badly, but I cannot justify the cost when I NEED a weighted blanket in order to get a good night’s sleep. Maybe if they offered this same size blanket in 30 pounds it would feel like a 20 pound blanket. Also, side note, the fabric is pretty rough.Update after first night: this blanket sleeps hot. I guess that makes sense considering the material it is made from, but I did read on the listing that it doesn’t sleep hot so I am bummed about that. The blanket definitely felt like any regular summer blanket as far as weight is concerned. It also kept tenting up anytime I shifted or moved leaving large gaps between my body and the blanket. It doesn’t hug the body the way a weighted blanket should. It’s just so beautiful!! I want this thing to work out, but I need an actual weighted blanket and cannot justify this price tag for something that just looks good and doesn’t work. I will update in a week to see if it just needs a little time to become more pliable in order for it to hug, but I don’t think it will ever feel like a 20 pound weighted blanket. Upon further examining, it appears to be constructed from cotton batting or some sort of similar material stuffed into tubes. The tubes are super light in weight and squishy between the fingers. I really wish I had a magic wand to wave and make this blanket behave like a 20 pound weighted blanket. I suppose the larger the blanket, the more spread out the weight is. If YNM made this blanket in 30 pounds without increasing the size of the blanket, maybe it would offer the same sensation as a 20 pound weighted blanket. I think this thing has to go back and that makes me sad. YNM, I know this woven blanket is a relatively new product so I’m hoping maybe there will be some tweaks fairly quickly so it will hug the body and truly feel like a 20 pound weighted blanket.
