SPL Review Aiper Scuba X1-Amazing Filtration Down to 3 Microns!
The X1 handled my test pool very well. It did not get stuck on the main drain or anywhere in the pool. I would say its coverage was about 98% which is excellent. It does a great job on the floors and walls, and the waterline mode is amazing. It’s designed for all pool types and I would say you are fine with this cleaner up to about 18,000 gallons.

Aiper scuba X1 review
The X1 was on sale (the only way it is worth buying) and included a free hydrocomm pure. The cleaner was easy to set up and use. Cleaned the pool well. Parked itself on the steps when the battery became low. It was easy to remove from the pool. Some reviews said it was heavy. I guess if you are out of shape it could be. Our pool is an irregular shape with a couple of seats formed into each side. Bottom of pool is curved on every wall. Cleaner had a few issues with the seats but after the third try at the same spot it back up and continued around the pool. Filter is good and easy to remove and clean. So, on day one I’m very happy with my purchase. My wife and I have no idea what the purpose of the hydrocomm pure is. When linked to the cleaner my wife was expecting real time status much like her roborock. If I had paid for the hydrocomm it would be on the return list. As far as we can tell it has no purpose in life and should not be purchased.

In the shimmering kingdom of backyard Atlantis, I, AquaBoss, once stood alone against the endless hordes of soggy invaders. Leaves marched like barbarian armies, dirt entrenched itself in the tiles, and algae plotted rebellions in the shadows. My old wall‑hose vacuum was supposed to be my faithful helper, but instead it betrayed me—tangling itself in knots, sulking at the drain, and refusing to climb the steps. So, I bought the Aiper X1 in a desperate attempt to turn the tide in this epic struggle to keep my pool clean and in good order. The Aiper X1 delivered. It went right to work vacuuming leaves, scrubbing tiles and even vacuuming steps – and never got stuck. AquaBoss is pleased.

I have used the Aiper twice so far and it cleans very good just as advertised. The standard Aiper X1 does not always come with the HydroComm Pure App, if an App is important to you make sure the HydroComm Pure is included. Aiper Customer support is outstanding.

Very nice packaging and clean labels and tech. But, I found has to be taken out of water at least twice daily to charge and only lasts less than 2 hours on a charge. My pool is only 12,000 gallons, 15’x32’. Gets stuck in places like above the water suction grate which is just about an 1” thick. Does not climb into tanning ledge. Don’t expect it to do every crevice and corner, manual brushing and hand work still required.

Never knew I needed it
WOW this thing is helpful. Does a fantastic job at exactly what it’s supposed to do — vacuum a pool. This is my first robotic pool cleaner so I was a little iffy about the idea of an electronic device being submerged in the water but I was like, I’m sure they know what they’re doing, I’m just being paranoid. And boy was I ever. This thing works just like an underwater Roomba, but somehow even better. My ONLY complaint is that it would be nice to have something to get it back from the pool bottom after it’s done vacuuming — that seems like something that is an issue with all pool cleaners, though, as I can’t imagine it’s an easy thing to figure out. Easy for me, personally, I just get in and grab it, I don’t clean the pool when I’m tight on time and need to be somewhere, but I’m sure other people do so a way to retrieve it easily would be helpful. But I’m sure people with more experience than me have figured this whole thing out and have easier ways of doing it, so I won’t take a star off due to my lack of experience. Very pleased with this product.

J’ai remarqué que l’indicateur LED pourrait être plus visible ou plus lumineux. Parfois, lorsque le soleil brille fort, il est difficile de voir si le chargeur fonctionne correctement ou si le robot est complètement chargé. Un signal plus distinct serait une amélioration bienvenue pour effectuer des vérifications rapides et efficaces de l’état de charge.En conclusion, ce chargeur non seulement répondu à toutes mes attentes, mais les a également dépassées. Sa rapidité de charge et sa facilité d’installation en font un investissement précieux pour quiconque souhaite maintenir une piscine propre avec un minimum d’effort. \PREFACE//I had mixed feelings about this robot vacuum at first but after their update the other day, I tried it out and it worked perfectly! (FYI, the update I have right now is V1.0.2) Out of all the pool vacuums I have tried, I think I have finally found the one that suits all my criteria (I have 7 pool robots). Yup, this is the one and trust me, I have been very critical of these robots. I have another Aiper pool vac (the S1 model) that I found absolutely horrible and have rated it such. This one is nothing like that, except for that you cannot establish a signal to it from your phone once it is under water. Apparently, I have come to find out, that that is just the way phone and WIFI signals are and at no fault on the company. They did release a pool water monitor thingy for $560 on their website called a “HydroComm” which floats on your pool and allows you to connect to the vacuum through your phone. It must use heavier signals for underwater communication or something. I guess that’s pretty cool but I don’t think it is worth the price for just something that simply monitors basic chemistries of your pool and connect your phone to your robot. Even without it, I suppose one could argue that the app is worthless then, but it does allow you to give the robot updates from the internet, so not all is lost there!\PERFORMANCE//Anyways, as for its performance AFTER the update, it performed exactly as I had hoped for my above ground 18′ round pool. No, it is not a big pool but it does have its obstacles. Firstly, on “smart” mode, it navigated all around the circumference of the pool, going up and down the walls. For the instances I watched it do this, it seemed to cover every inch of the walls except for where the skimmer and pump discharge protrude (they are unavoidable anyways). This operation proved to be a challenge for other vacuums since the above ground pool walls actually have an incline greater than 90° (see picture). The bottom corners are also very rounded but it appeared to pick up quite a bit of dirt around them regardless. When it got to the top, it did its waterline cleaning. It would pop up and down several times before it travelled gently back down the wall. This did a pretty decent job at removing built-up pollen that came from the many pine, birch and spruce trees lined around my property. Before the update, it didn’t do so well in this department.It might have been at this wall and waterline cleaning for about an hour or a little more when it decided it was finished and proceeded to vacuum the floor bottom. It seemed to do quite the zig zagging pattern (being a round pool) but was smart enough to recognize the walls with its built-in eye sensor and moved about everywhere. From what I could tell, it left very little dirt behind. It seems running this on “Smart mode” does drain the battery quite a bit however as both times I used it, it ran for an average of 140 minutes (it logs this in the app). That’s enough to clean my pool though, so I am happy. I plan on using this once a week on “Smart” mode, but for anyone with a larger pool, you can always set it up to dedicate its full battery for the walls one day and the floor the next. Anyways, after it was finished, it parked itself at the same spot as the last time it cleaned my pool. About 4 feet away from where I dropped it in, up against the wall with its red light on, indicating that it had enough (the light changes colours depending on what it is doing 👍).\ACCESSORIES//Now unto the accessories! The strainer and filter that come with this are averagely sized compared to other robots of this class. Very easy access and simple to clean. The filter is a little concerning as it is a bit more difficult to clean with a hose and I have noticed on my second go with it that I had cotton like fibers balling up on my fingers. I do not think it is made to last, or it may be having issues with the bromine levels in my pool. They are a bit on the higher end of normal at the moment. When taking the robot out of the water with the provided hook (no issues there, fitted well), the strainer’s check flap stayed closed and very little dirt fell back into the pool. It is a very heavy, not-so-little robot when filled with water, so you want to let it drain a bit when dragging it back out so that you don’t pull your back and whatever other joints/muscles you never knew you had!As for the charger, love it! It popped together without any issues and plopping the vacuum on it is all it takes to charge the thing. No fumbling around with cords, drying out connections or making sure the power input is covered with some loose-fitting rubber plug. Something about just picking it up as you walk by to throw it in the pool makes it seem like much less of a chore too.\CONCLUSION//This is a great robot vacuum and I did not pick up on any issues with my current set up. I was worried that it might be too much for my set-up, being a cheap above ground pool, but it really isn’t. Funny enough, this robot costs more than the pool itself. 😅 In the end, I have to give it five stars and I highly recommend.
