Original Review: I have had this hair dryer for about six months and it has started to make a high pitched noise and shuts off. This is extremely disappointing for such a hyped up dryer. I have my old 7 year old dryer I will have to go back to.I have never dropped this dryer and keep it on a stand in my bathroom. I will see if the manufacturer can help.Edit: Well, whatever mechanical issues the hair dryer had are now gone! I don’t know if something had jostled lose inside or if it was just a bad bearing, but one day it just started working again without notice. No complaints here! It’s a very nice hairdryer, and I like the different hair attachments. They snap on magnetically and are designed for different hair types. I use the curly hair attachment and my daughter uses the straightener attachment to help straighten her curly hair.

I cannot believe I debated on ordering this for so long! I love my Dyson! It dries my long 20” hair quickly without over-drying. The air intake is at the bottom of the handle which is much better than the back of the air shaft – my hair never gets caught. The attachments are perfect. I absolutely love the flyaway attachment as I have fine hair with layers, and sometimes it looks like pure frizz. The flyaway attachment tucks my layers to give me a great curved under look.This blow dryer shape is also mush easier to pack in my carry-on luggage than a traditional blow dryer. It’s lighter weight and so much more convenient. I’ll never use anything else!

Great, easy to use
I’m 82, with short hair I’ve continued to “set” with rollers, for years (I also cut my own hair – have done so for decades and people ask me who my hairdresser is). Decided to give Dyson a try – regardless of cost. without looking at instructional videos, within minutes (seconds?) after a shower, I was able to blow-dry a substantive “do.” for my mane. I may be able to further perfect the process over time, but what I have now is excellent for me.I’m fortunate not to have to consider the price excessive, given the instant reward that might, otherwise, only be obtained through ministrations of a pricey stylist

Dissapointed!
Functionality issuesIn less than a year of use, the dryer stopped working properly: it no longer blows hot air. This has been a major disappointment, as I expected durability and quality in line with the price I paid.Expectations vs. realityWhen I chose Dyson, I did so trusting that I was acquiring a high-end product, designed to last and deliver top performance. However, this early malfunction shows that an expensive product does not always guarantee quality or longevity.ConclusionI definitely do not recommend the Dyson hair dryer. I feel it was a poor purchase decision, especially given the money spent and the excitement of giving something special. If someone is looking for a reliable, long-lasting hair dryer as a gift or for personal use, my advice is to look for other options on the market.

Dyson is truly many steps ahead of others.
Dyson products have never disappointed me yet. They are very pricey yes. And whether it is worth the premium over competing products is very different from one person to the next.Their hair dryer has the strongest motor for this type of form factor hair dryer that I have used. Other “fan-less” dryers severely lack this aspect and often have poor air flow/ pressure. The attachments are quality and the sound is much quieter than alternatives! Dries my hair much faster and has a button that blows cold air in an instant!

I have never had a hair dryer this expensive and i must say that i don’t regret buying it. This is next level!Dries hair quickly:It can dry my hair in 20 minutes! With my revlon one it usually takes me 45 minutes.Quality:The quality of the dyson is just amazing. I am so obsessed with it. Weight:Very light weight. Easy to travel with. Attachments:I love how it comes with an attachment for different hair styles Why did you pick this product vs others?:i decided to buy this because i needed a dryer that could dry my hair faster, since i don’t have that much free time on my hands. I needed something that could offer great quality and performance. And guess what? This definitely exceeded my expectations!

Good investmet for hair health + things to keep in mind
I was nervous to buy this hairdryer because of its high cost, but after using it for a couple months I have pros and cons of this hairdryer (mostly pros). This hairdryer is great! Compared to other hairdryers, the sound is smoother and not annoying. The hairdryer has some weight to it showing it is made of a great durable material. The hairdryer dries hair at a decent rate on normal mode. I like how you can change the airflow level and the temperature level and that there is a cool button. I have very thick long hair. Drying it on the lowest setting or the coolest setting has me drying my hair for like 15 minutes or more to have it somewhat dry. It is better to alternate between modes. There is the cool button but holding on to it sometimes can be annoying based on placement of the button. Nevertheless, the option to control the heat and airflow is a gamechanger. I bought this hairdryer because I wanted to make sure not to damage my hair and its great to be able to switch modes. Just keep in mind different modes may require you to take a longer time. The attachments are nice for styling. The hairdryer does give a more premium drying experience. It is a good investment.

I specifically contacted the seller, source tech pre purchase as i live in the UAE and they assured me this had a UAE/UK plug – It arrived with an Indian plug!!! Totally incompatible and also poor quality so not even sure its a genuine dyson.

The best hair dryer I have ever used. The hair is not hot and extremely dry after drying. Adequately dry the hair while protect the hair from entanglement and dryness

Honestly, it’s a great product, quality. Do you or I need a several hundred dollar hair dryer? No. I like fancy stuff as much as the next person, and usually I stand by the saying “you get what you pay for”. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s quality. But at the end of the day, it’s a hair dryer. If you think this will revolutionize your life, I’d say pass. Buy a $30 hair dryer. If you have money to blow and like to splash around, then treat yoself!
