This is a high quality collagen supplement that is made right here in the USA and is third party tested. The collagen derives from fish (tilapia), which is a smaller peptide compared to bovine and has better uptake. I actually see an improvement in the appearance of my skin after a week. I’m really looking forward to having less breakage in the hair around my face. I know that will take time to fully realize though. I am not a fish person but I like the benefits of taking it so I appreciate that these have zero fishy taste. When others around me start noticing my complexion and saying how much more rested I look, I know this is really working. It is helpful for my joints as well. Want glowing skin and strong hair and nails, I think this is a winner. I rotate and take bovine collagen in smoothies some as well. This is a lot easier and faster to take.

Good Product, Hard to Open Outer Packaging
I’m reviewing PALS Potent Collagen Tripeptides, Supports Radiant Skin and Joint Health, Marine tripeptide Collagen, Tripeptide Concentration of More Than 15%, 60 Capsules, 30 Servings.This supplement comes in the form of large capsules filled with small off-white beadlets (see photo). The capsules measure 15/16″, and I found them to be easy to take. The entire jar has a funky smell when the jar is first opened; however, individually there’s no discernible scent nor taste. A serving size is 2 capsules making this a 30 day supply.As I’ve gotten older, I’ve noticed some hair thinning and less elasticity in my skin. I thought I’d try adding this marine collagen to my supplements to support my hair and skin. I haven’t noticed much of a difference yet, but hope to see some improvement over time.I would note that the outer packaging for this product was exceedingly difficult to open. There was a button to press while turning the cardboard tube. Even with the button pushed all the way in, the tube would not turn to release the packaging. I ended up getting a knife and cutting away the packaging bit by bit until I could finally tear it open. In my opinion, there are much better packaging options to keep products from being tampered with (reflected in star rating).Inside the outer tube, these capsules are packaged in a plastic jar with a screw-on lid (not child-resistant). The best by date is 03/2027.At the current price of $49.99, I find it to be on the high side, but it does look to be made with high quality ingredients and is manufactured in the USA, so no further reduction in my star rating.

I am taking these for joint health
Before purchasing this or any supplement product, I researched the ingredients and their benefits to see if this is something I want. There are supplement offerings in the Vine program that I won’t choose because of “objectionable” (to me) ingredients.I almost didn’t choose this item, because the main ingredient is derived from ocean fish. The oceans are terribly contaminated with micro-plastics, and other serious contaminants/toxins. I don’t eat any fish/sea-food any more, and hesitated to try a fish-derived product. One star off.I’ve been taking this product for about a month.It has one ingredients listed in the “Supplement Facts” — a proprietary brand name (of collagen tri-peptides). “Again with the marketing”. Peptides in general are the building block for proteins. Marine tri-peptides are purported to be good specifically for joints and anti-aging.I’m concerned about one “other” ingredient, as I consider it to be controversial. This means the FDA considers it GRAS (generally regarded as safe) but some doctors and researchers disagree: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose. It is identified as vegan, and it may well be. But being from plant sources does not guarantee it is healthy. And, touting that is is a vegan capsule is silly since the main ingredient is derived from fish. One star off.When I can find a similar product with the same active ingredients, but no controversial ingredients, I choose accordingly. Many supplements avoid questionable ingredients – so I suspect this company COULD have too.This company uses odd packaging. A normal plastic jar with a screw lid is shipped in a paperboard “case” with a push-button release to open the case. I found it VERY difficult to open the case, cumbersome to say the least. And I don’t see any real advantage for the case – seems like “slick” marketing. I didn’t take off another star for the packaging, but I thought about it.
