Some notable observations about the NB 990
I had these shoes for just ten years inured before I decided they are the best running shoes I have ever had by FAR. Here are some observations. The quality of the materials is excellent, perhaps other than the shoe laces that are just standard. The fit, I wear an 11.5 wide was very nice. I would say they may run slightly large, and by that I mean length, not width. At any rate they are an excellent fit. However the premium part of these shoes for me is the density of the sole. Often shoes are described as walking on clouds but to me that means overly soft, these shoes have a firmness and give combination that is extremely comfortable for me. I’m shocked at how good they feel. One small note just to be fair, the insoles in these are suprizingly minimal. I’ll probably replace them with something else. Also the drop, that’s the difference in the height of the heel and the forefoot feels like 0 which I like a lot, some running shoes have a huge drop and feel like you are walking downhill. I like these much better. Hope this helps. Oh one more thing, they are expensive but I’m sure I’ll get enough wear out of their quality to make up for the cost.

The New Balance Men’s Made in USA 990v6 Sneakers fit my16 1/2 and 6 x wide feet very well. This is the third pair of New Balance shoes that I’ve purchased. I find the price very reasonable for a high-end, quality shoe. One pair was a black leather pair suitable for dress. Since I have neuropathy in my feet, New Balance are the only shoes I trust!!

Very Comfortable! Cost of it can be pricey but it does give you an option to pay monthly at no interest cost which is amazing. Feels like you’re walking on clouds lol. Style can go with active and casual wear. Ive had it since August and I use it pretty much everyday and everything is still intact, so its durability is very great. Invest in your feet’s!

Runs Small
I bought these as a gift for my father. I absolutely love the look and style of these shoes and he says they’re very comfortable. I read many reviews that the shoe runs big so I was surprised when my dad told me the shoe felt tight and he had no extra room for his toes. I ended up returning for a half size bigger and it’s a much better fit for him.

Best version to date
This is the best version of NB 990 to date. Combines the traditional width options with the hallmark stability and excellent cushioning. I have worn New Balance for over 25 years and highly recommend this versatile and “cool” versionAppended: after 11 months of regular use, walking several miles/day.The I’ve worn the 990 v6 for 11 months, walking several miles daily and for machine-based workouts at my health club. While initially comfortable, the midsole has become “spongy,” providing less stability and firmness than the 990 v5, which remains my benchmark. I suspect the redesign—incorporating FuelCell foam to rival competitors softer feel—traded away the firm platform that long-time 990 users value. Over time, the foam seems to lose resilience, reducing ground feedback, which matters if you have peripheral neuropathy or balance issues. The fit, materials, and craftsmanship are still outstanding, but those seeking a stable, supportive walking shoe may prefer the v5 (if available). Overall, a well-made shoe that’s evolved toward comfort over control—great for casual wear, less ideal for those needing firmness and balance support.

Absolute Necessity for people with Plantar fasciitis
I’m almost 50 and I started getting to the point where I couldn’t walk – of course, the doctor says “oh, it’s just plantar fasciitis..” I say “of course” because for someone without the pain themselves, it seems like it’s just a Dr. Scholl’s insert that is a cure-all for it. I used one of those first, and while they alleviate the pain a bit, they don’t actually *fix* the problem. I asked the Doctor to send me to a Podiatrist. The guy who I saw is quite esteemed, he’s done groundbreaking work in the area of feet. But he told me “the only cure, outside of trying near-useless velcro attachment devices and leg braces, is to wear New Balance 990s all the time.”Ok so silly me, I thought these were $50 shoes – but they aren’t. That saying “you get what you pay for” applies here incredibly, at least for me. $200 bucks later on Amazon, and I’m expecting a miracle or I’m grumpy. The odd ending to this story is this: I’m not grumpy and I absolutely fell in love with the way these fit. I’ve worn many, many shoes in my lifetime (including Asics and lower-level New Balance shoes, along with Nikes etc) and there simply isn’t any comparison.Like, ZERO.I have wide feet (Fred Flintsone feet) but after a couple of days of breaking them in, my plantar fasciitis not only started to fell MUCH better but in a month’s time it went away. WOW. I had it for almost a year and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it (nor could my primary care doctor).If you are struggling with the idea of whether these shoes are worth it here’s the answer: THEY ARE. Yes, you may have to make sure you have the right size but once you do, I really doubt you’ll ever buy another shoe type again.Last but not least, I bought mine 6 months ago and I wear them everywhere – even in the house – because they help my feet. So I’ve put many, many miles on them. They are nowhere near showing signs of wear – occasionally they’ll get dusty if I’m out walking, but no wear.Made in the USA. I didn’t even know that until after I bought them, but now it makes sense. Things of quality are built here (because) the companies who are headquartered here in the US don’t have the mismatch of communication you’d naturally have making something overseas. I say this because most New Balance shoes are made in China, these are the only ones that I’m aware of made in the US. But the quality difference between the two – from the “other” New Balance shoes in their line to the 990s is black-and-white. If I were CEO of that company, I’d onshore their production of all lines.. they’d be the only manufacturer with quality shoes for everyone.In the meantime, I’m continuing to enjoy life with these without Plantar Fasciitis. I’m definitely a happy camper!

Como siempre una chulada estos tenis, pero les recomiendo leer toda publicación completa de los tenis, cuando estuve buscando información del envío y la compra, no recuerdo exactamente dónde, pero vi que la talla decía “wide”, eso quiere decir que son más anchos de lo “normal”, el título del producto no menciona eso, ni en la descripción, así que, creí que eran talla D (regular) a lo ancho, en mi caso estuvo mejor porque tengo pies anchos, entonces, el espacio extra se agradece, pero si tienes pies normales, vas a sentir que te sobra algo de espacio a lo ancho y no se diga si tienes pies delgados, te van a nadar
