If you are expecting fine jewelry you will be disappointed. However, this is a lovely piece of fashion jewelry. It arrived in a small box sandwiched between two pieces of plastic, better packaged than most jewelry in its class. It is well made and seems sturdy. I was able to handle the lobster claw clasp with no problem. I just received this necklace so I cannot attested to whether it will tarnish over time. The description says it does not. I will update later after I have worn it several times. This is a great necklace for travel when you want to dress up a bit but don’t want to risk loosing the family heirlooms!
