Stops Sweat Before it Starts
Can’t believe I’m reviewing deodorant, but here we are because I feel the need to sing the praises from my pits.A few things of note: I sweat like a beast and if I ever forget to put on deodorant, everyone within a block would know it.This keeps me dry and smells fantastic all day. Throughout the day, I’ll even get whiffs of lavender wafting from my shirt. I have even had coworkers comment that I smelled good and realized what they were smelling was my deodorant. Thanks, it’s my pits!If my first stick had not been purchased on clearance, I don’t know if I would have ever tried it. I had always been under the impression that Tom’s is one of those “natural” brands sold at the fancy grocery store or health food store that are ineffective because they more about being all natural, like a deodorant stone.I’m glad to have been proven wrong.My husband and son even borrow it from time to time. I would classify the scent as ‘unisex’, the texture is a white, soft, not-cream-but-not-powdery, formulation. It applies smoothly and evenly, hubby reports it doesn’t make armpit hair clumpy and it glides easily, not snagging hair or stuttering across skin.The package says 48 hour protection. I have not tested those limits, but I don’t doubt the assertion is true.

Like the deodorant, dislike the scent
Who leaves a review for deoderant?? I really like this brand, it works well. I do not like this fragrance. It’s north woods but it smells extremely lavender to me. A soapy, strong, overpowering lavender. I hate lavender. Give me some turpentine, tree sap smell over this. Will not buy this scent again.

Quality deodorant
Quality product, good scent (though subjective). Slightly smaller than standard size it seems, but good clean ingredients. No skin irritation for me.

Sticky, sap-like, messy horror that is painful to remove
I used this for years, but now after three purchases I have stopped. It leaves a sap-like glue on your underarms that cannot be washed off with any soap. Sticky, messy, and painful. I searched online and saw that many, many others have had this same situation. I can’t believe they sell this stuff. Apparently, it only happens with the North Woods version. I have purchased the unscented and it is fine.

Generally works for me and fewest toxic/undesirable ingredients
I have been using Tom’s of Maine products for a number of years. While antiperspirants for me personally are kind of hit and miss, I buy the ones from Tom’s of Maine because they have fewer of the toxic/not-so-healthy ingredients than most mainstream brands. This one generally works for me. Yes, it does have the aluminum in it, but the industry apparently has yet to discover an ingredient that is not so toxic to do the antiperspirant part of the job. Since we can’t find the Tom’s of Maine antiperspirant around the Denver area anymore (seems to have been discontinued in all stores we shop), I was happy to find this on Amazon for close to the same price.
