High Quality Liner for Vivid Looks
I have been using this Urban Decay eyeliner for yearssssss and it is always consistent for me.Color: highly pigmented so you can actually see what you’re applying, even if it is white eyeliner.Functionality: the pencil does not break and is easy to apply.Sharpen? YesRetractable pencil? NoStay on? The color is so beautifully vivid that it does stay on.Smudge-proof: Yes! this eyeliner is smudgeproof if you want it to be. For example, if you wanted to keep your look in place, you can choose to use a finishing spray to help it stay or just leave it as is on your eyes. If you wanted to smudge your eyeliner on purpose for a sultry smokey look, you can smudge it and the finished result is just as wonderful.Texture: it feels like a borderline melted crayon that smoothly glides while keeping the pencil’s “shape”Fall proof: I have not had this pencil break while dropping it during use. Smooth and creamy, but not worth the $
I am usually one of urban decay’s biggest fans and I was even a fan of this liner, but the cons quickly outweighed the pros. In the hopes I can help others, here is my list of pros and cons:PROS: very smooth and easy to apply. I especially like how well it worked along my top waterline. Just one, or two for good measure, sweeps across my waterline and it was perfectly coated. It did just as well on my bottom waterline, but more on that later. The color is a beautiful and dark black, and does stand out.CONS: cost. Even with the color and texture, I can’t say it is worth paying that much. I confess, I actually have paid this price… multiple times, but I don’t really know why. Once I got over the smooth application, I never was overly impressed with it. At first, it looks GREAT! But almost immediately, the bottom waterline starts to wash away while other parts stick around, and after a few hours —unless you have barely moved, released a bead of sweat, never accidentally touched your eye, or your eyes never even thought about watering— you will slowly get the raccoon eyes. I will say, with the right setting spray and being consciously cautious about touching or smearing my makeup, it occasionally would hold up fairly well, but I never mastered how to get that result every time. With such inconsistency, I could just as easily pay a few bucks on Nyx or something and get a similar result.

Goes on smoothly.
I’ve been using this pencil for years (“Perversion Black.”) Goes on smoothly, color is truly black. My only complaints are that the pencil wears down quickly and needs to be sharpened after every use. They can be a pain in the neck to sharpen. I do not recommend the Urban Decay sharpener-ELF sharpener works much better and is much less expensive.

Worth every penny for that color pop
This is hands down my favorite eyeliner pencil brand. It really lives up to the name because it glides on so smoothly without any tugging, and the color deposit is just amazing. I picked up the metallic green shade, and it looks absolutely stunning against my light brown and gold eyes, it really makes the color pop!It is incredibly long-lasting and stays put the whole day, so I never have to worry about touch-ups. I know it is a little on the pricier side compared to drugstore brands, but the quality is definitely there. It feels so luxurious and is well worth the splurge for how beautiful it looks.

I really love this liner and the colors are beautiful. My favorite is the dark brown pencil persuasion. However, all three times I’ve bought it, it has broken easily and is impossible to keep sharpened. Nonetheless, I keep ordering it as it’s the best liner for mature eyes I have found. I’ve tried other liners and they are either too dry and pull my lids and/or they are too hard to apply. I’ve also had problems with the pencil breaking off too easily.Stays on well and provides a nice thick line.

Great colors, but….
I purchased this color (Empire), which I love, and also Rockstar. Empire went on great, lasted all day without wearing off or smudging and the color is exactly what I wanted (I have green eyes and I’m tired of wearing black eyeliner all the time). I was able to use this for about a week…until the tip wore down. You cannot sharpen it, at least I wasn’t able to with the several sharpeners I have. I’m so disappointed that it’s pretty much useless now and I spent over $20 for this eyeliner.Rockstar is also a nice, softer color. But, it goes on super light, so I had to keep retracing my line. Once it’s on, it’s gorgeous. But, same issue with sharpening… doesn’t work.I wanted to love these liners because the colors are perfect, especially Empire. But after spending (splurging) $40-ish dollars for a product that I can no longer use, not worth it. Urban Decay should either make these liners in a retractable “pen”, or at least include a sharpener on the end of the pencil that actually works for these liners.If anyone has had luck with sharpening, please share what type you used. I have 3 that range in size that work perfectly, but not on this brand.

Best eyeliner
I ordered four different colors thinking I would keep one or two I kept all four they do not smear or flake, last all day. Colors are great., I recommended to my friend. She ordered two and told me she absolutely loved how they stay on all day and how easily they glide on.

Stays put without feeling too dry on my 50-something eyelids.
This is the only long-wearing eyeliner I’ve found that doesn’t feel too dry on my 50-something eyelids, but also doesn’t melt into goo in the corner of my eyes. It’s not cheap, but not a major expense, either.
