Great moisture, but a bit stingy
This moisturizer has a beautiful texture — it really does feel like that gel-cream hybrid the brand promises. It goes on light, spreads easily, and sinks in fast without leaving a greasy film. My skin looks nicely hydrated and a little plump afterward, and it layers well under sunscreen and makeup without pilling. A pea-sized amount is enough for my whole face, so the tube should last a while.The formula itself feels elegant: lightweight, smoothing, and not heavily scented. There’s a soft, fresh smell that fades quickly and doesn’t linger or compete with other products. On days when my skin barrier is normal, it leaves my face soft and comfortably moisturized, not sticky or oily.Where this lost a star for me is sensitivity. I’m a nightly tretinoin user and my skin barrier runs on the reactive side. On tret nights or when my skin is a bit compromised, this stings and burns for several minutes after application — especially around my cheeks and nose. It doesn’t leave visible irritation, but the burning sensation is unpleasant enough that I wouldn’t reach for it on those days. On “off” nights or when my skin is calmer, it’s fine.So for me, it’s a great daytime moisturizer on non-irritated skin, but not something I can rely on when my barrier is more fragile from actives. If you’re not on tretinoin or don’t have ultra-sensitive skin, I think this could be an excellent lightweight daily moisturizer. If you are using strong actives or have a damaged barrier, I’d say patch test first and maybe reserve this for your “good skin days.”

I have always loved Thrive makeup, but this is my first time trying their skincare. The Bigger Than Beauty Gel Cream Hydration is such a pleasant surprise. It feels light like a gel but creamy as it blends in, leaving my skin soft, smooth, and fresh.The scent is gentle with a little hint of mint and orange. It smells clean and natural, not too strong, and fades nicely. I use it on my face and neck, and sometimes under my eyes when I need a little lift. It absorbs quickly and gives my skin a healthy, dewy look.A small amount goes a long way. It has not caused any breakouts and works beautifully under makeup. At night I use a bit more (like a face mask) for extra hydration, and I wake up with my skin feeling calm and smooth in the morning.My only small complaint is the tube packaging since some product gets left inside. With tubes like this product, I like to cut it open and scoop out the rest with a small spatula so nothing goes to waste.Overall, this is a wonderful moisturizer for day or night. This gel cream is amazing, and it really helps my skin feel rejuvenated.You only need a little, and I mostly use overnight so my skin wakes up plumper.

Moisturizing and long-lasting
This is unexpectedly more than it seems. It has a very subtle, pleasing fragrance – almost not there. The surprising part is how little you really need.I used the typical amount I usually scoop from a moisturizer, and quickly realized that this literally melts into your skin, reacting with the heat of your body, and provides way more than you scooped. You really don’t need much at all to get full coverage. It’s almost like it morphs from a moisturizer into a serum. I’m sure that’s the essential oils in the product. At any rate, I do not think you need the recommended “quarter size” to cover your face.It’s a good product with good ingredients, and it moisturizes my skin. I’m not sure it’s doing enough to warrant the cost, though.
