I developed a small obsession for mixed nylon-boar bristle brushes from seeing Mason Pearson brushes reviewed online, but I can’t justify over $200 for a hair brush, “heirloom” or not! I was between this and the Kent (I have and love Kent combs), but after reading reviews of both, I chose this one for the flat cut nylon bristles, which are invigorating but still comfortable on the scalp – no sharp angles for this tenderhead.Big boar propaganda tells us the bristles help distribute your natural scalp oils from the roots to the tips of the hair. The cuticle structures of natural boar bristle are similar to hair strands, which is why it carries the oil so effectively but also buffs your cuticle smooth with regular use. The key to longevity is keeping the brush free of hair after each use and cleaning the brush with shampoo and drying thoroughly at least once a month if not 2x.The brush design feels great in the hand and is very lightweight but sturdy and well made with a “Made in U.K” engraving. The pad rubber seems durable and has some give but isn’t overly soft and doesn’t collapse completely. Bristles are dense but with room in between, so it works well even with my thick hair type.I’m a guy with medium length, straight-to-wavy, thick, dark European hair, but I imagine it would detangle easily for longer and curly types while not losing texture. Although I usually fight it, the brush has brought out the best attributes of how wavy my hair can be. After a few days, I can see and feel a difference in the shine and how my hair holds a style.

Coarse/curly girlies: buy this!
I have coarse curly hair and this brush is one my hair stylist uses on me in my various-lengths-of-bobs phase. I finally bought one to help style my curtain bangs and it is by far the easiest to use and best I’ve tried. It has enough of a dome to add some volume, as opposed to a paddle brush, and the boar bristles make hair so smooth and shiny. its not heavy and the handle is small enough to juggle with a blow dryer. Very glad I got this brush!

– Makes hair incredibly smooth and shiny- Might not work for thick hairI usually stay away from boar bristle brushes because they can’t brush through my thick coarse hair, but I thought this brush might be a good compromise because it’s a combo of both boar and nylon bristles. However, turns out it still can’t reach my scalp and sort of just brushes the surface of my hair. So this brush doesn’t really work for me for detangling (maybe it’s not supposed to, idk, but I’m a one brush kind of girl, so that was a bit disappointing). Having said that, this brush makes the top layer of my hair so smooth, shiny and frizz free, I’ve actually surprised myself in the mirror several times by how good it looks.Also, the brush itself just looks and feels classy and expensive???

Nice scalp stimulator
I love how my scalp feels with this brush. It does take a bit of getting used to, but once you do, it’s a nice scalp stimulator and quick, daily self care ritual. The quality of the brush is great and it detangles my thick hair well.

A GOOD brush does not need to be $200.
Honestly it’s exactly like the $200 one. I have bleached blonde hair that’s very fine so it breaks really easily but this brush is so gentle on my hair, I love it ❤️This is the large brush for reference in my bag vs in a cosmetics bag

Short adjustment period, but great brush!
I have very fine hair, with wavy/curl. I was nervous about purchasing this brush, but I have been struggling with scalp build up and and oily roots/dry ends, so I took a chance on this brush. I am so glad I did. The first time I used it, I thought the plastic tips were going to tear open my scalp, but as I continued to use it my scalp got used to the feeling and it was no longer uncomfortable, and actually very pleasant. I have noticed a big difference in my hair texture and my scalp feeling cleaner and less oily. If you want to take a chance on this brush, you won’t be disappointed!

High quality brush! I am excited to use it. Seems like a great dupe for the higher end brushes.Unfortunately, mine arrived with a large scratch near the base of the brush.
